Jessica Wood, LMFT-A

Hi, I’m Jessica, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A). I believe that therapy should feel like a space where you can be heard, understood, and accepted for who you are—not a place where you feel judged or expected to have everything figured out.

I bring over five years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in private and public-school settings, along with experience providing home-based and residential therapeutic services. Throughout my work, I have supported individuals and families navigating behavioral challenges, emotional and social struggles, relationship difficulties, and family concerns.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I draw from humanistic, existential, and person-centered approaches, while also incorporating systemic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, among others. I believe every person brings their own experiences, strengths, relationships, and challenges into therapy, so our work together should reflect you rather than follow a one-size-fits-all formula.

Therapy can be an opportunity to:

  • Understand yourself and your experiences on a deeper level

  • Find relief from painful past experiences

  • Regain a sense of control

  • Improve relationships and communication

  • Get to the root of challenges rather than simply managing the symptoms

  • Build greater self-awareness and confidence

  • Create meaningful, long-term change

  • Feel more connected to who you are and how you want to live

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I also recognize that our relationships and environments can have a significant impact on our well-being. When working with children and adolescents, I often incorporate psychoeducation and family involvement when appropriate. Helping parents and family members better understand what a child is experiencing can create greater understanding, connection, and support both inside and outside of therapy.

Most importantly, you are the expert on your own life and experiences. You know yourself in ways that no therapist ever could. My role is not to tell you who you should be or what you should do, but to walk alongside you, offer guidance and support, and help you work toward the goals that matter to you.

Your voice matters. Your perspective matters. And I believe therapy works best when we work together.

Jessica sees clients in person at the Jefferson Blvd office and via Telehealth. All Major insurances accepted.
